This course has been designed for adults who do not have a Leaving Certificate and would like to achieve certification. Certification is provide by QQI (formerly FETAC) at NFQ Level 4. An interest in IT would be of benefit but a variety of subjects will be provided.

What will I learn?
Upon completion of this course you will have learned to-
- Use common office software packages for example: Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Desktop Publishing
- Plan & Develop a simple web page
- Improve your keyboard skills
- Improve your verbal, written and visual communications skills
- Develop personal assertiveness skills and build your confidence
- Develop a plan to achieve your goals and improve your CV and interview skills
- Improve your numeracy skills and understanding of numbers.
What do I need?
You’ll need to have
- the ability to read and write, but support will be given if your writing skills are a little rusty.
- a good command of the English language
- Time to complete home assignments
- a basic knowledge of computers—know how to use the internet and send emails.
Is the course certified?
Successful learners will complete a Major Level 4 QQI certified award in General Learning.
What progressions options are there?
Successful completion will enable you to show improved employability skills and may open up an opportunity to move to Level 5 QQI certified courses

Selection Criteria
Applicants are required to complete an application form, language comprehension and literacy skills assessment. Priority will be given to people who are in receipt of a DSP payment and / or do not have a leaving certificate or higher qualification.
