BACK-TO-EDUCATION COURSES – FEBRUARY 2023

A range of new Back-to-Education Initiative courses will commence in February 2023. These flexible part-time courses are aimed at adults who wish to return to education to acquire certification in subject areas that lead to employment or higher education opportunities.

Each subject requires a commitment of 4 hours per week over a 15 week period. A maximum of 4 subjects may be undertaken at one time.

All courses are accredited by Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI).

LUCAN – BUSINESS ENGLISH COURSE- STARTING SOON

The purpose of this QQI Business English (Level 4) course is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to communicate confidently, accurately and effectively in English in business and work situations.

LUCAN – INTRODUCTION TO BOOKKEEPING COURSE- STARTING IN SEPTEMBER

Ideal if you don’t have any formal  experience of bookkeeping, you’re considering employment in an office setting, thinking of starting your own business or would like to keep accounts for a club or other organisation.

The aim of this part-time QQI certified Recording Sales & Purchases (Level 3) course is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skills and competence to keep bookkeeping records for an organisation or small business. It provides the learner with the knowledge and understanding of bookkeeping terminology and an introduction to the principles of bookkeeping and accounts.

LUCAN – INTRODUCTION TO MICROSOFT EXCEL- STARTING IN SEPTEMBER

The ideal course for someone exploring the use of spreadsheets for the first time with QQI certification at Level 3.

The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to develop the relevant knowledge skill and competence to use a range of skills and tools, under direction and with limited autonomy, in familiar situations. It enables the learner to participate in and contribute to modern society, to pursue a range of employment opportunities or to progress to further education or training.

LUCAN – MATHS IN EVERYDAY LIFE

Ideal if you don’t have any formal experience of bookkeeping, you’re considering employment in an office setting, thinking of starting your own business or would like to keep accounts for a club or other organisation.

The purpose of this course is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to recognise situations where mathematics can be used meaningfully in daily life, apply and transfer mathematical processes and concepts appropriate to the situation, interpret and draw conclusions from activity, and communicate conclusions appropriately to others. It is designed to develop skills which enable more effective functioning in personal life, the workplace and as a member of society.
